Our founder Alde Rask decided at an early stage to build the ultimate heating system for RVs – and our approach is as uncompromising now as it was then. We are driven by a passion to help you fully enjoy the most precious moments in your life: leisure time.
Today we are a world leading company which develops, produces and markets heating systems, mainly for mobile accommodation. The company is privately owned and maintains clear, long-term emphasis on internationalisation and product development. Our head office is in Färlöv in Sweden, in the same place where it all started. All development and manufacture of our heating systems takes place here, something we are very proud of. There are 130 employees with subsidiaries in Germany and the UK.
In Sweden’s cold climate, we’ve spent decades developing no-nonsense hydronic central heating systems which provide warmth and safe comfort all year round in RVs the world over. Our full-scale systems are also tested at temperatures down to -95 °F in one of our two cold chambers to allow us to optimise comfort. The production holds quality accreditation to ISO 9001:2015, and our products are of course compliant with all regulations and standards in our markets in Europe and North America.

1949
Alde Rask founds Alde in 1949. Without this ingenious inventor from the tiny town of Färlöv in Sweden, the world would have been just that little bit less pleasant. His ideas for improving comfort in RVs continue to permeate everything we do even now.
He worked constantly on new solutions and new products throughout all the years he spent working with the company. He was a true entrepreneur and innovator.
1949
After the Second World War, there is a major shortage of products in all industries. Alde Rask decides to establish Alde together with his brothers-in-law, Gunnar Eklund and Erik Ohlin, in 1949, and initially they manufacture products for trailers.
Alde develops electrical brakes which opens up a completely new market in the coming decades.
1950 the ingenious Alde Rask builds his own Alde trailer – perhaps the first in Sweden!
1966
”Finally! The perfect heating for RVs”, proclaims the 1966 advertising folder.
This is when the first mobile boiler sees the light of day following an intense period of development at Alde. This boiler is highly praised for its efficiency.
1969
Alde Rask and his family often spent time travelling down to Europe with their car and trailer. And, inquisitive person that he was, he snapped up new opportunities and forged new contacts. This results among other things in the first export of Alde products to a trailer factory in Yugoslavia.
The company then begins to develop quickly, requiring larger factory premises and more staff.
1973
An eagerly awaited new building is completed, followed by the new assembly hall a few years later.
After 25 years of ownership, the company is sold to Optimus-Alde AB.
A large number of new products are launched, including the revolutionary Comfort boiler.
1986
Four members of staff – Mats Ebenstrand, Lars Thuresson, Lars-Göran Andersson and Bo Griwell – take over the company and change its name to Alde International AB. The company’s logo is changed at this time to the one we still have today.
The business goes on growing, its premises are extended and the building façades are altered.
1993
A revolutionary new LPG boiler, the Alde Compact 3000, is launched. This is a combination boiler with a built-in immersion heater and water heater.
At the time of its launch, this boiler wins the “Industry Innovation of the Year” award for 1994.
1997
Alde is bought out by a privately owned corporate group active in the leisure industry, and so increases its chances of international expansion.
Alde reinforces its position as a leader in its industry. Swedish quality and inventiveness are highly appreciated the world over.
2001
The company establishes a subsidiary in Germany, Alde Deutschland GmbH, which is based in Röthlein.
Alde takes over the Primus heating division, thereby also taking over responsibility for spare parts and servicing for Primus boilers throughout Europe.
2006
The launch of the Alde Compact 3010, a more advanced version of the Alde Compact 3000.
The demand for hydronic heating increases faster than the market as a whole. The growth continues and the company focuses increasingly on international expansion.
2009
A subsidiary is founded in the UK, Alde International (UK) Ltd, in Wellingborough.
The company develops well, and the UK will develop in future to become one of our biggest markets.
2012
Alde heads across the Atlantic to the huge North American market. A company is started in the USA, Alde Corp in Washington on the north-west coast of America.
This company also focuses on the Canadian market.
2013
The launch of the Alde Compact 3020, a more advanced version and successor to the Alde Compact 3010.
2015
Launch of Alde Flow – a smart comfort solution which gives you extra hot water for as long as you want via a separate water heater. Alde Flow connects into the heating system and preheats the freshwater before it is conveyed into the boiler’s ordinary water heater.
2018
Opening of Alde Service Center in Färlöv, Sweden. Alde Service Center in Färlöv provides expert assistance in connection with service, installation and repairs of Alde and Truma products and accessories for your motorhome and trailers.
2019
Since Fall 2019 TrumaCorp. a is representing Alde Systems in North America.

Alde and Truma join forces in North America
Since Fall 2019 Truma Corp. in Elkhart is representing Alde Systems in North America. Alde began business in 2012 in North America and is a sister company to Truma Gerätetechnik GmbH & Co. KG which established its North America headquarters in Elkhart, IN in 2013.
Truma has integrated Alde into their new headquarters opening in Elkhart, IN in Fall 2019. They combine forces sharing a mutual service network, logistics and warehousing, and sales team to support both OEM and retail customers throughout North America. Being in Elkhart will allow Alde to be closer to their OEM customers where they will continue pre-assembly of their systems and distribution.
